WBS assists students avail education loan from leading lenders, including nationalized banks, private banks, multi-national banks and NBFCs (non-banking financial companies). The education loan is offered based on the academic performance of the student, who is the applicant for the loan, and the credit history of the co-applicant, who is a parent or guardian of the student.
Vidya Laxmi
Vidya Lakshmi is a first of its kind portal for students seeking Education Loan. This portal has been developed under the guidance of Department of Financial Services (Ministry of Finance), Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education) and Indian Banks Association (IBA). The portal has been developed and being maintained by NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited. Students can view, apply and track the education loan applications to banks anytime, anywhere by accessing the portal.
Student Credit Card-Bengal
Under the visionary leadership of Mamata Banerjee, Hon’ble Chief Minister, West Bengal, The Higher Education department, Government of West Bengal has introduced the Student Credit Card Scheme for the students of West Bengal to enable them to pursue education without having any financial constraints. This scheme is designed to support the students to pursue secondary, higher secondary, madrasah, undergraduate and post graduate studies including professional degree and other.
